The jar, cast with traditional methods for three months, is 1.51m in height and 88cm in largest diameter.
The casting job was finished on November 19 by a group of craftsmen, led by Le Van Bay, a member of the Thanh Hoa provincial Antique Association and a bronze casting craftsman of Tra Dong village.
In 2006, Le Van Bay’s group casted the largest version of an ancient Ngoc Lu bronze drum, which is 1.51m in face diameter, 1.54m in bottom diameter and 1.21m in height.
Both the jar and the drum are now displayed at the Hoang Long Antique Museum in Thanh Hoa, while the two ancient objects, which were made about 2,500-3,000 years ago, are showcased at the Vietnam Museum of History in Hanoi.
