The visiting Lao Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Sitaheng Latsaphone has asked Vietnam to continue assisting Laos in the planning of forestry, aquaculture, and production of animal and plant seeds, and personnel training.

The Lao Minister made the request on July 21 during a reception given by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dzung.

The PM expressed his satisfaction at the progress in the special relationship between the two nations, particularly the successful cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Prime Minister Dzung urged the two ministries to continue their co-operation under the Co-operation Treaty signed by the two Governments.

He also called upon the two ministries to promote technical cooperation, training, and exchange experiences, particularly experiences in the forestry area, including rubber planting, so as to benefit both countries and their workers.
