The remains of volunteer Vietnamese soldiers and experts who died in the Lao province of Savanakhet will be repatriated during the 2009-2010 dry season.

The joint working party of the Vietnamese province of Quang Tri and its counterpart Savanakhet met on August 25 to discuss plans to coordinate efforts to search for, unearth and bring the remains back to Vietnam.

In the dry season, Quang Tri’s Search Team 584 has found and repatriated 76 sets of remains of Vietnamese soldiers from Savanaket with the assistance of the Lao authorities and people.

They are now looking for 130 graves of fallen soldiers and the two sides have agreed on immigration-related procedures, time and location for recovering the remains.
