Officials of the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh on September 19-20 visited and presented gifts to dignitaries at local Khmer pagodas and families of war invalids and fallen soldiers on the occasion of the Khmer Sene Dolta festival.
Local authorities also granted VND300,000 to each of the 2,235 poor Khmer households in the province to help them enjoy the Sene Dolta festival, one of their largest traditional festivals.
The festival is celebrated annually by Khmer people in Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Bac Lieu, Kien Giang and An Giang provinces to give thanks for bumper harvests.
