At a resettlement area in Suoi Hiep commune, construction is underway to rebuild homes for four families whose houses were destroyed by floods. Situated near the riverbank and considered unsafe, each family was allocated over 100 sq.m of land by local authorities. Once permits were in place, personnel from Brigade 162 of the Naval Region 4, assisted the families in rebuilding their homes.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Bui Van Tam, Deputy Chief of Staff of Brigade 162, said 70 personnel were mobilised to build the houses simultaneously, with tasks clearly assigned. Despite bad weather, they worked tirelessly, including night shifts, to ensure timely completion.

The Quang Trung campaign, launched under the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, is now in its final phase. Swift and decisive efforts have already resulted in many new homes. In Khanh Hoa, 18 of 24 houses have already been completed and inaugurated.

Eighty-nine homes in Khanh Hoa destroyed or swept away by floods were slated for reconstruction. So far, 72 houses have been completed and handed over to local households, with the remaining expected to be finished by January 12. Additionally, all 290 heavily damaged homes have been repaired and returned to their owners, helping families stabilise their lives.

With the dedication of the armed forces and support from local authorities, the Quang Trung campaign in Khanh Hoa is entering its final phase. Each completed home brings hope and security for flood-affected families, symbolising the strong bond between the military and the people.

Tran Van Kinh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Suoi Hiep commune, affirmed that the prompt and responsible efforts of the armed forces have helped the locality overcome its greatest post-flood challenge - providing homes for residents.

Beyond manpower and resources, they have left a strong impression of soldiers close to and serving the people, Kinh said, adding that this support greatly encourages families to stabilise their lives and strengthens public trust in the Party, the State, and the Military.

PM urges completion of Quang Trung Campaign before Party Congress, Lunar New Year

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 7 demanded the swift completion of the “Quang Trung Campaign” to rebuild and repair houses for people affected by storms and floods in central Vietnam, stressing that all work must be finished ahead of the 14th National Party Congress and the Lunar New Year.
