Job bazaar connects Japanese firms with Vietnamese labourers in Da Nang

VOV.VN - A job bazaar featuring the participation of more than 20 Japanese enterprises was held on May 22 at Dong A University in the central city of Da Nang, serving as a key recruitment event for Japanese companies seeking Vietnamese labourers.

At the event, over 500 students were recruited by the participating companies.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Mori Takero, consul general of Japan in Da Nang, commended Dong A University for its strong reputation in producing high-quality human resources. He emphasised the university’s deep-rooted collaboration with Japan, not only in academics but also in employment pathways, noting that many of its students have been actively working in Japan.

A highlight of the cooperation is the upcoming Japanese-standard clinic project in Da Nang, developed through a partnership between Dong A University and the Sun Wellbening – Mikazuki – Mediva consortium. The clinic, located on the first floor of the Mikazuki building, has an investment of JPY500 million (approximately VND90 billion).

In support of student development, Japanese partners also awarded VND340 million in scholarships to Dong A University students. A total of 36 scholarships were granted to those involved in internship and employment programmes at leading Japanese corporations such as Aijinkai, Asai, Care Partner, and Sun Frontier for the years 2025 and 2026.

Luong Minh Sam, chairman of Board of Directors of Dong A University, said the institution has sent 903 students abroad for internships and work placements in Japan, Singapore, Germany, and Taiwan (China).

In Japan alone, more than 800 students are working in the fields of manufacturing, services, healthcare, and tourism, with many of them becoming key personnel at Japanese enterprises in Vietnam.

Assessing the recruitment trend in Japan, Kobayashi Keisuke, deputy chief representative of JETRO Hanoi, shared that Vietnam currently accounts for the majority of foreign workers in Japan with more than 570,000 people.

Of the figure, about 105,000 workers have high-skilled and professional residency status, accounting for 18.5% of the total, a sharp increase compared to 2016.
