The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development presented its insignia to Yasuhiro Tojo, Deputy Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Vietnam on March 22.

Luong The Phiet, Acting Head of the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry, said over the past 4 years, Tojo has made significant contributions to the planning and implementation of projects in agriculture, irrigation, scientific application in agricultural production and improvement of local administrative management.

JICA also participated in several other projects aimed at planting forests on the sand, controlling animal diseases, improving ability to respond to natural disasters in the central region, running training courses in national park management and protecting nature reserves in Vietnam.

Phiet also expressed his hope that JICA and Japan in general will continue support Vietnam in this field.
