Japan will receive around 1,000 Vietnamese workers in 2007, according to the Overseas Workers Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).
A cooperation agreement to this effect was signed recently between MOLISA and the International Human Resources Development Association of Japanese Small and Medium Enterprises.
Under the agreement, the Japanese side will directly select workers from Vietnamese factories.
The selected workers will not have to pay any money except charges for passports, health care checks-up, and living cost during their four-month language training in Vietnam.
They will work in Japan in two or three years, each receiving a salary of about 80,000 Japanese Yen (US$700) per month in the first year, 90,000 Japanese Yen in the second year, and 100,000 Japanese Yen in the third year.
