The Japanese Government will grant nearly US$90,000 in non-refundable aid to Chon Thanh district of southern Binh Phuoc province to buy medical equipment for its hospital.

An agreement to this effect was signed by Japanese Consul General in HCM City Osamu Shiozaki and Chairman of the District People’s Committee Tran Van Huynh on December 26.

The aid will be used to purchase medical equipment such as X-ray machines, blood test, urine analysis devices and some other supportive equipment in an effort to improve health care service for more than 62,000 local people.

Since 2005, the Japanese Government has granted more than US$5 million in non-refundable aid to Vietnam to implement 80 small projects in 26 southern provinces and cities.

Japan has provided Binh Phuoc with nearly US$49,000 to buy medical equipment for the Bu Dang district clinic and over US$83,000 to build schools in Dong Xoai town.
