Japan will invest VND61 billion (around US$3.9 million) in three social projects in the northern mountain province of Yen Bai, said Japanese ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba during his working trip to Yen Bai on December 9-10.
The projects aim to improve nutrition conditions for local children, and upgrade the rural road and irrigation systems.
During the trip, the ambassador and his delegation visited an industrial zone in the southern part of the province seeking investment opportunities.
On behalf of local officials, provincial party committee secretary Hoang Xuan Loc expressed his hope that Japan will invest more in the local infrastructure in the coming time.
