The Save the Children donated VND233 million for 250 households in Hai Vinh commune to help them restore production and normalise their lives. 

The Hai Lang district Development Programme funded by the World Vision provided 41 tonnes of rice, 43 tonnes of rice seed, and 1,418 roofing sheets worth US$772 million in total for people in the district’s five hardest-hit communes. 

According to the General Statistics Office, storms and floods in October left 202 dead and caused total property losses of over VND16 trillion in central and Central Highlands provinces. 
Kon Tum topped the list of hardest-hit localities with 50 deaths, followed by Quang Ngai with 35 fatalities and Quang Nam with 30 deaths.  The natural disasters swept away more than 22,000 houses and unroofed nearly 270,000 others while damaging 150,000 ha of rice and crops and killing over 31,000 heads of cattle and 656,000 head of fowl. 

In order to help central localities overcome the consequences of the storms, the Prime Minister on October 2 signed a decision to provide 10,000 tonnes of rice from national reserves for eight provinces and cities, including Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Kon Tum.
