This can be seen in several moves that the Vietnamese Government has taken recently, he said, citing among the most prominent ones the endorsement of the Anti-Corruption Law, the establishment of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, and the media’s ever-increasing, active involvement in the persistent fight against social evils.

The funding is designed to support the inception phase of the “Strengthening the Comprehensive Capacity of the Inspectorate System from 2006-2010” by the Vietnamese government, which commenced on October 1 this year.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Inspector General of Vietnam’s Government Inspectorate Tran Van Truyen spoke highly of the financial support, saying that it will contribute to the improvement of Vietnamese inspectorate personnel’s professional capacity.

“This will enable the inspectorate system in Vietnam to better handle the people’s complaints and denunciations, and especially to successfully fulfill the anti-corruption tasks,” Mr Truyen added.
