International scientific conference draws 2,000 doctors and experts in Da Nang
VOV.VN - Da Nang Hospital is hosting the International Scientific Conference 2026 from January 28 to 30, aiming to expand academic exchange at the regional and international levels.
The conference draws around 2,000 delegates, including doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals from hospitals, research institutes and universities in Vietnam and abroad.
Among them are 100 international experts from the US, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and China, including 70 specialists from the Mayo Clinic (US) who travelled to Da Nang to attend the event.
It serves as a forum for domestic and international medical experts to exchange professional knowledge, share practical experience and update advances in modern medicine. It also provides an opportunity for healthcare professionals in Da Nang and across Vietnam to enhance their expertise in patient care, diagnosis and treatment through academic exchange and professional networking.
On the opening day, the conference featured specialised sessions focusing on emergency medicine, including trauma care in resource-limited settings, injury management in elderly patients, decision-making in the first five minutes of blunt and penetrating trauma, and the assessment and treatment response of hypoglycaemia in emergency admissions.
The event includes 21 thematic sessions with 73 international speakers and 145 domestic experts, featuring nearly 350 registered presentations. Discussions focus on key medical fields, current issues in clinical practice, high-tech medical applications, and improvements in patient management and care quality.
Conference topics also cover advanced medical areas such as organ transplantation, cardiovascular intervention and oncology.
According to Dr Le Duc Nhan, Director of Da Nang Hospital, the conference aims to strengthen professional connectivity and augment cooperation between Vietnamese and international medical experts, contributing to improved healthcare quality and more comprehensive patient care.
He noted that, beyond updating scientific and technical knowledge, the conference places strong emphasis on practical clinical training, particularly through hands-on technical procedures and mentoring-based training programmes, helping bridge modern medical advances with real-world treatment practice and supporting the long-term development of Vietnam’s healthcare sector.
