International lifeguard competition debuts in Danang
(VOV) -Seventeen rescue teams participated in the first ever lifeguard competition held in central Vietnam, which kicked off at the Eastern Sea Park in the central city of Danang on September 7.
The Danang International Lifeguard Competition was organized by the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang Tourism Beaches and Surf Life Saving Vietnam.

Each team competed in swimming, running along the sand, paddling rescue coracle, surf lifesaving, capture the flag (cuop co) among other challenges.
The event aims to create a chance for domestic and foreign lifeguard teams to exchange and share experience in maritime rescue activities. It also served to promote the image of Danang tourism.
Participating teams hailed from renowned seaside holiday resorts in Nha Trang, Hue, Hoi An, Danang, Australia, Thailand and Philippines.
