Speaking at the event, Dr. Le Duc Nhan, director of Da Nang Hospital, emphasized that ECMO is an advanced medical technology that has saved millions of patients facing critical respiratory and cardiac failure.

However, to apply ECMO effectively and safely, we must continuously research, learn, and exchange knowledge with leading experts, he noted.

Da Nang Hospital has been implementing ECMO since 2017 and has been recognized as the 675th institution worldwide to deploy this technique. Over nearly a decade, the hospital has performed close to 300 ECMO cases, averaging nearly 50 cases per year.

This conference is a valuable opportunity for us not only to enhance our expertise but also to promote the development of ECMO in Da Nang and surrounding areas, Dr. Nhan added.

Professor Dr. Pramod Kumar Guru, Adult ECMO director at Mayo Clinic, highlighted that the conference provides healthcare professionals with training and exposure to the latest ECMO techniques, hands-on practice with expert teams, and comprehensive patient care strategies.
