VOV.VN - The Indian Navy vessel INS Sagardhwani docked at Cam Ranh International Port in Vietnam’s central Khanh Hoa province on May 5, beginning a four-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
The ship, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Viraat Shiggaon, is carrying 136 officers and crew members. It will stay in the central coastal province from May 5 to May 8.
Senior Vietnamese naval officials, including Colonel Nguyen Minh Lanh, Deputy Chief of Staff of Naval Region 4, welcomed the delegation at the port.
During the visit, the ship’s command group is scheduled to pay courtesy calls to leaders of Khanh Hoa province, Naval Region 4 Command, and the Vietnam Naval Academy.
Officers and sailors from INS Sagardhwani will take part in a range of exchange activities with their Vietnamese counterparts, including a friendly volleyball match and a joint yoga performance involving local yoga practitioners.
The crew will also visit cultural and tourist sites in the province, offering an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding.
The visit underscores goodwill between the two countries and contributes to strengthening defence cooperation, particularly between their navies. It also reflects the continued development of the Vietnam–India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and efforts to enhance trust and people-to-people exchanges.
