Hungary, Vietnam boost locality-to-locality cooperation
VOV.VN - Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai has paid a working visit to the city of Győr, a key industrial, educational, and cultural hub in western Hungary in an effort to strengthen locality-to-locality cooperation between the two nations.

During a meeting with the ambassador, the mayor and other city leaders provided an overview of Győr’s socioeconomic development, highlighting its strengths in the automotive industry, high technology, higher education, scientific research, sports, tourism, and cultural heritage preservation.
Ambassador Bui Le Thai congratulated the city on its achievements, applauded its dynamic growth, and outlined the potential for cooperation between Győr and Vietnamese localities, especially in areas where the two sides can complement each other.

The two sides discussed ways to ramp up cooperation with a focus on reinforcing ties between business communities, increasing the number of Vietnamese students and researchers at universities and institutes in Győr, and exploring the recruitment of skilled Vietnamese workers in automotive parts assembly and manufacturing. They also looked into expanding cultural, sports, and tourism exchanges, and considered the possibility of establishing sister-city relations between Győr and a suitable Vietnamese locality.
The ambassador’s visit is seen as a contribution to bolstering practical cooperation at the local level and further deepening the Vietnam-Hungary comprehensive partnership.
