Hungary –important partner in PhD training using state budget

(VOV) - Vietnam considers Hungary an important partner under its overseas PhD training program using state budget and will promote the dispatch of Vietnamese postgraduates to study in Hungary under the program, said Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan. 

Minister Luan made the statement during a January 12 reception for Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Szijjarto Peter who paid a visit to Vietnam from January 11-13.

At the function, the two ministers signed a cooperative education program in the 2016-2018 period, under which educational institutions from both sides will strengthen direct cooperation, speed up the exchange of lecturers and share experiences in research and teaching.

Hungary is expected to offer 100 annual scholarships to Vietnamese students including 60 graduate and master and 20 PhD scholarships in different fields. Vietnam will also provide scholarships to Hungarian lecturers and students.

For his part, Minister Szijjarto Peter expressed belief that the 2016-2018 cooperative program will be an effective tool for both sides to implement the contents of the educational cooperative agreement signed between the two governments on March 4, 2013.

In the time ahead, both sides will hold more training courses on atomic energy for Vietnamese specialists and lecturers in Hungary. Final year students from Vietnam will be sent to Hungary for an internship in the field of atomic energy.
