Hoi An ready to welcome senior APEC leaders

VOV.VN - Residents of the ancient town of Hoi An, in the central province of Quang Nam, have hastily restored the city to its former glory in the aftermath of typhoon Damrey. The city is now ready to welcome senior APEC leaders and their wives for visit on November 11. 

As soon as the floodwaters receded, local authorities directed residents to clean up the muddy streets to make the activities of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week possible.

Many streets have been cleaned up and are presentable and ready to welcome APEC leaders and their wives on November 11.

   This street looks back to normal thanks to a huge collective effort to clean up.

  The iconic lantern laden streets are ready to welcome the prestigious guests.

 On Nguyen Thai Hoc street normal business resumed and the crowds return after the historic floods.  

Floodwaters in Hoi An city have cleared completely.

Locals are hastily decorating their houses and streets to prepare for the APEC leaders’ visit to the city today. 

 The new Vietnam-Japan cultural  space which opened on November 10.
