Ho Chi Minh monument inaugurated in Russia

VOV.VN - A monument dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh was inaugurated during a ceremony held in Vladivostok city in Russia on July 5.

The Ho Chi Minh monument is situated amid a flower garden on Borisenko street in the city. The monument has been designed by sculptor Piotr Chegodaev and features President Ho Chi Minh standing on a pulpit with his hands placed on an open book.
Present at the inauguration ceremony are representatives of the consulate general of Vietnam in Vladivostok, local authorities, and members of the overseas Vietnamese association.
The idea behind the Ho Chi Minh monument was agreed upon by representatives of the consulate general of Vietnam in Vladivostok and local authorities on June 4, 2015. The inauguration of the Ho Chi Minh monument is among the activities taking place during Vietnam Year in Russia, which coincides with Russia Year in Vietnam.
A large number of Russian people gather to take part in the ceremony.
 
The event sees art performances carried out by local people wearing traditional garments.
