High tide rise causes chaotic traffic in HCM City

(VOV) -Rising floodwater has submerged many roads in Ho Chi Minh City, causing widespread traffic congestion in urban areas and residents houses to be completely flooded.

On the morning of November 6, water from high tides flowed through the streets and busy traffic routes of Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, Thanh Binh, 6 and 8 Districts in HCM City, resulting in severe congestion and chaos.

Traffic queues were particularly bad at intersections, in 3, 5, 11, Go Vap and Tan Binh Districts, leading to traffic chaos for hours with some roads up to 0.7m under water.

The high floodwater was caused by torrential rain and rising tidal level over the last few days.
