The appeal was made by Mr Huan at a meeting of the National Steering Board on Bird Flu Prevention in Humans as schools nationwide have been put on full alert to watch out for possible cases of infection since the new academic year started 10 days ago.
Vietnam should draw on lessons from other countries’ shortcomings when trying to prevent the flu spreading throughout the community, he told the meeting in Hanoi.
The Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City has conducted tests on the A/H1N1 virus while the Ministry of Science and Technology is currently conducting research to produce a testing methodology to diagnose the A/H1N1 virus at the earliest possible time.
