HCMC Red Cross chapter sees 224 pct rise in donations
The Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Chapter in the last five years gave more than VND1.46 trillion (nearly US$66 million) to various charity and humanitarian activities, up 224% compared to the previous five-year period.

In addition, an average of VND362 million (US$16,300) was allocated annually to assist 150 victims of Agent Orange between 2011 and 2016, according to reports at the chapter’s five-year congress held in HCM City on September 30.
Over the last five years, the chapter donated more than 21,300 scholarships to disadvantaged students and offered support for 58,000 elderly residents.
It also helped fund operations for nearly 300 children with congenital heart defects.
