A delegation of municipal leaders led by Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Dua on November 3 visited the Vietnam Buddhist Shanga (VBS) central committee to mark the 25th founding anniversary of the VBS.

At the meeting, Mr Dua highlighted the SBV’s great contributions to national development and said the city will create favourable conditions for the VBS in general and the HCM Buddhist Shangha in particular to develop steadily.


On this occasion, the delegation was received by the Most Venerable Thich Tu Nhon, Vice Chairman of the VBS Central Committee’s Executive Council and the Most Venerable Thich Hien Phap, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the VBS Executive Council.


Over the past 25 years, the VBS has received great support and assistance from Party and State leaders. It hopes that the support and assistance will help the VBS develop steadily in the spirit of national reconciliation and unity, said the two Most Venerables.


The same day, the delegation also visited the HCM City Buddhist Church and was received by the Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council and other executive members of the Municipal Buddhist Church.
