HCM City works with Singaporean group to build smart city

VOV.VN - Nguyen Thanh Phong, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, received Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel Land Limited from Singapore on April 4 to discuss cooperation measures for innovation and smart city building.

Mr Phong appreciated Keppel Land Limited’s investments in Vietnam, which include many big projects in HCM City, adding that the city pledged to improve the investment environment to facilitate foreign investors, including the Singaporean group, to support their long term operation in the city.

Regarding a Saigon Sport City project, Mr Phong urged the group to quickly finalise a detailed project in accordance with HCM City’s requirements and to connect with the Rach Chiec sports complex, serving the city’s project to host the 31st SEA Games.

Mr Phong expressed his hope that the group will take part in the component projects of smart city building, initially a creative urban hub project connecting Districts 2 and 9 and Thu Duc.

According to Loh Chin Hua, Saigon Sport City is the group’s number one project. It plans to cooperate with Microsoft in the construction process to develop Saigon Sport City as a smart urban area with typical Asian connectivity, deploying smart technology applications in security, trade, and renewable energy, and applying green solutions in urban development.

He said that with 30 years of experience in infrastructure and real estate in Vietnam, the group will do its utmost to support the city in completing the technical infrastructure for hosting the 31st SEA Games.
