Participants in the meeting exchanged information and the latest findings about the obstetric and gynaecological situation.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thi Xuyen praised the obstetricians and gynaecologists for their contribution to the nation’s health sector, by reducing the fatality rate of mothers in and after labour and that of newborns, slashing children’s malnutrition rate and successfully applying advanced reproductive technologies.
Within the conference, 90 scientific studies will be presented and four surgical practice workshops will be held for participating professors and doctors to exchange experiences in treatment and operation techniques to handle complications.
On the occasion, the Tu Du Obstetrics and Gynaecology Hospital – the conference’s organiser, held a ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-France-Asia Pacific Obstetrics and Gynaecology Conference.
The meeting, according to hospital director Pham Viet Thanh, has contributed to developing human resources and improving professional capacity for Vietnamese obstetricians. It has also brought about opportunities for international cooperation with hospitals, organisations and schools around the world.
