HCM City boosts education-training with Australia’s Northern Territory

VOV.VN -Ho Chi Minh City is keen on ramping up co-operation with the Australian state the Northern Territory, with a specific focus on education and training, including the building of education facilities to Australian standards in Vietnam.

Vo Van Hoan, vice chairman of the municipal People Committee, made the statement while meeting with Nicole Manison Deputy, chief minister of the Australian state, in the southern city on November 15.

Hoan said that the southern city has high demand for high-quality human resources training, thereby expressing his hope for the Australian locality’s sharing of training materials and curriculums. This is along with the exchange of teachers and assistance in forming faculties and subjects in vocational training establishments across the city, as well as boosting ties in the field of vocational training.

He used the platform to thank the Australian Government for providing vaccines and medical equipment to the southern metropolis during its COVID-19 fight.

The city leader noted that the two sides are seeking to make the most of the great co-operation potential that exists, noting that the three localities in the state have now launched their trade offices in the city. This has contributed to creating an important foundation and favourable conditions for the city as it seeks to promote trade relations with localities in the state.

In response, Manison said that her visit aims to bolster trading ties between the two sides following a period of interruption caused by COVID-19.

She assessed that the Northern Territory has high potential and boasts great opportunities for co-operation with Vietnam, especially in areas of its strength such as education-training, tourism, and cattle breeding.

The Northern Territory is always welcome to Vietnamese students, she said, adding that local recruiters also highly value the overall quality of Vietnamese students based in Australia.

Highlighting a number of issues of interest and aspirations of both sides, Manison outlined that businesses of the Northern Territory are keen to engage in the construction and development of the southern metropolis.

Moving forward, the state will open more trade and investment offices in the southern city, she said, proposing the resumption of a direct air route linking the capital of the Northern Territory and Ho Chi Minh City as part of efforts to boost the bilateral partnership.
