The Republic of Korean community in Ho Chi Minh City raised more than US$6,000 for Vietnamese Agent Orange/Dioxin victims during an art programme marking Day for the Vietnamese AO Victims held at the Hoa Binh Theatre on August 10.

RoK General Consul in Ho Chi Minh City, Min Young Woo donated US$3,000, the President of the RoK association in the city, Han Ki Yoon, VND30 million (nearly US$1,900), and Rector of the RoK University, Choi Kun Soo, VND5 million (US$320).

The money was handed over to the President of the HCM City Agent Orange/dioxin Victims Organisation.

In response to the call for support of A/O victims, a RoK non-Governmental organisation, named Aid to Vietnam, has presented wheelchairs, clothing, food and cash to the Vietnamese AO/dioxin victims since 2004. The organisation donated VND400 million to the victims in 2005-06.
