HCM City, Australia’s Gold Coast City boost cooperation

Vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc on December 8 said that the metropolis is willing to support the opening of direct flights between the city and localities in Australia to boost tourism.

Receiving Mayor of Gold Coast city in Australia’s Queensland State Tom Tate, Duc said that Ho Chi Minh City always pays attention to tourism development – a key part of its socio-economic development.

Duc also said that the city wishes to promote cooperation with the Australian city in such fields as education, human resources development, investment and trade.

He said he hopes Ho Chi Minh City and Gold Coast City will also further share experiences in urban waste treatment, waste-to-energy electricity generation, climate change response, new technology applications and urban governance.

For his part, Mayor Tate appreciates the potential for economic development and the attractiveness of the investment environment of Ho Chi Minh City, expecting that in the coming time, the two localities will strengthen cooperation in the fields in which they have mutual interest, especially tourism, education and culture.

Gold Coast city, on the east coast of Australia, is a famous tourist city with beautiful beaches. It is considered one of Australia's fastest-growing cities.
