HCM City aspires closer links with Francophone localities
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City wants to partner with and receive support from overseas resources, including French-speaking countries and their localities, to deal with challenges such as urban traffic, environmental pollution and climate change.
Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem made the statement at a March 24 reception for delegation of young Francophone parliamentarians led by Didier Le Bot, General Secretary of the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF).
Liem highlighted the positive development of relations between Vietnam and French-speaking nations which has greatly benefited Vietnam, including HCM City.
He hailed the fruitful cooperation between young APF parliamentarians and Vietnam, and HCM City as well and expressed his hope that they will continue help the city in the realms culture, education, health, and high technology.
Didier Le Bot highly appreciated the dynamism and responsible participation of Vietnam in the APF, particularly its efforts in hosting a number of APF conferences.
He said he hopes the city will intensify exchanges and cooperation, and share experience in socio-economic development with localities of Francophone countries in the future.
