HCM City advances cooperation with German universities
VOV.VN - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan greatly valued cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, including educational collaboration at a February 28 reception in Hanoi for Professor, Honorary Doctor and President of the German Rectors’ Conference, Horst Hippler.
Nhan said Hippler’s visit shows German universities’ keen interest in cooperation opportunities between German universities and HCM City as well as municipal universities.
He asked Hippler to share his experience in connecting universities with local authorities in innovative research, and social development promotion, while calling for his support for HCM City in holding university workshops on how to recognize and deal with challenges to the training sector during the fourth industrial revolution.
Nhan said he hopes Hippler will make greater efforts to stepping up cooperation between German universities and their counterparts in HCM City, as well as cooperative activities in scientific research, especially in scientific and technological application in urban development.
Hippler in turn hailed educational collaboration between Germany and Vietnam, including university partnerships, adding that he will work on further cooperation in higher education.
In addition to training, the Vietnam-Germany University has major opportunities to engage in HCM City’s development projects, he said.
Hippler assured his readiness to introduce universities with a great deal of experience in personnel training to HCM City to help it improve the quality of human resources, thus meeting growing demand for construction and development.
