Harnessing the possibilities of science, technology, and innovation

The conference brings together 180 researchers, business leaders, technologists, philanthropists, local innovators, and students to participate in a conversation about keeping their workforces on the cutting edge of innovation in the decades to come, and share work already in progress.

Today we have vaccines to protect us from devastating diseases like cervical cancer, flu, and meningitis. We have developed an artificial retina and have achieved promising initial results on brain control of robotic prosthetic arms.

All of this was made possible by investments of past generations and we must plant the seeds of future breakthroughs by continuing forward momentum in critical biomedical and other innovative science and technology initiatives, he noted.
