Hanoi's air quality remains at hazardous levels
VOV.VN - On April 14, residents of Hanoi are once again facing dangerous air quality, with multiple monitoring stations reporting unhealthy and even very unhealthy levels.

According to the website moitruongthudo.vn, managed by the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in several areas, including Trung Hoa ward in Cau Giay district and Minh Khai ward in Bac Tu Liem district, reached 165, categorized as “unhealthy for sensitive groups.”
In contrast, Dao Duy Tu Street in Hoan Kiem district had an AQI of 45, which falls within the “good” range.
Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment's air quality monitoring system indicated that pollution levels across the capital this morning were within the “unhealthy” range, posing potential risks to public health. Key locations with notably high AQI values include Nguyen Van Cu Street in Long Bien district and Giai Phong Street, with AQI levels ranging from 150 to 159, and Khuat Duy Tien Street at an AQI of 127.
Health experts cite fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from vehicles, construction, industrial activities, and waste burning as the primary sources of the capital's air pollution. Emissions from motorcycles also significantly contribute to the deteriorating air quality.
Given these hazardous conditions, residents are strongly advised to avoid outdoor activities unless absolutely necessary. It is particularly recommended for vulnerable groups, including children, pregnant women, and those with respiratory conditions, to wear masks and protective eyewear when going outside.
