Hanoi to conduct COVID-19 testing on Party Congress delegates
VOV.VN - Delegates attending the 13th National Party Congress will have two samples taken as part of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) testing which will run from January 18 to January 23 in Hanoi.
Information regarding the testing schedule was released by Nguyen Khac Hien, the director of the Hanoi Department of Health, during a recent online meeting held to discuss pandemic prevention and control measures throughout the municipal area. As a means of ensuring epidemic prevention, the capital’s districts and wards have intensified inspection, monitoring, and handling of violations relating to pandemic prevention regulations.
Chu Xuan Dung, vice chairman of the municipal People's Committee, described that despite Hanoi recording two new imported COVID-19 cases last week, the risk of a resurgence of the pandemic within the community remains very high due to many causes which have already been identified.
Moving forward, Dung has requested that all units and agencies continue to strictly comply with pandemic prevention regulations, in addition to handling violations, such as individuals not wearing masks in public places, while not allowing COVID-19 cases to be sent home from medical facilities if the conditions are unsafe.
According to Hoang Duc Hanh, deputy director of the Hanoi Department of Health, the capital has gone 150 consecutive days without any new COVID-19 patients recorded in the community.
The 13th National Party Congress is set to transpire in Hanoi from January 25 to February 2.
