On August 3, many of the city’s streets were flooded, causing traffic problems, wet and gloomy shopping, and temporarily more expensive fruit and vegetable prices.
Staff and technicians at Hanoi’s sewerage and drainage company are working around the clock to address all issues as soon as possible.
The city’s large reservoirs are lowering water storage levels and big lakes like Thanh Cong, Giang Vo, Bay Mau and Dong Da are also open to ease the pressure on the drainage system.
