The Hanoi Employment Centre, under the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, will organise a job transaction floor for the first time to solve the problem of unemployment among the capital’s young people.

The event is part of a festival themed “Careers for the capital’s young people 2010”, which will be held from March 17-19 at the Trade Promotion Centre for Agriculture in Hanoi.

The transaction floor is expected to draw the participation of 60 businesses and to recruit for over 3,000 positions.

The centre will set up an area for posting up recruitment notices and desks for consultancy, and an area for job seekers to look up positions themselves through a system of computers on the spot.

This is the third year Hanoi’s Department of Education and Training, Youth Union and Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has organised the festival. The event aims to introduce a system of vocational training centres in Hanoi and helps students seek and choose jobs suitable to their talents and aspirations.

The festival will include an exhibition to help candidates apply to vocational training centres and colleges, a seminar on high-quality education and training and a forum on young people and jobs.
