Hanoi fast-tracks urban railway projects

The capital city of Hanoi is ramping up efforts to prepare for its urban railway projects whose construction is slated to begin this year.

Under a document recently issued by the office of the municipal People’s Committee, competent departments, communes, and wards need to carry out specific tasks for the upcoming metro lines.

Line 2, connecting Nam Thang Long to Tran Hung Dao, is scheduled for groundbreaking on October 10.

The second priority project, Line 5 linking Van Cao to Hoa Lac, will commence construction on December 19.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan asked relevant sides to provide timely consultation and proposals for the city, ensuring swift resolution of any obstacles or complications that may arise during the implementation process.

Meanwhile, the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board is responsible for working closely with the local departments, sectors, communes, and wards to assure the projects are carried out in accordance with schedule.
