Hanoi capital gets COVID all clear over 24 hours

VOV.VN - For the first time in nearly three months Hanoi has recorded no new coronavirus infections during the past 24 hours, the municipal Department of Health reported on September 26 evening.

Hanoi imposed social distancing on July 23 and had extended the measure four times till September 21 in order to halt the spread of the virus in the community.

The city has recorded a total of 3,965 cases since the virus recurred in late April, excluding 190 other cases linked to outbreaks at Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases and K Cancer Hospital located in the locality.

It has controlled hotspots in Thanh Xuan, Long Bien, and Hoang Mai districts where complicated clusters of infections were detected.

To date, more than 5.76 million people or 95.7% of people aged 18 and above have been first vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and nearly 950,000 people or 15.76% of the total have received their second dose.

Though people are fully vaccinated, they should strictly follow COVID-19 guidelines, including wearing a face mask, avoiding large gatherings and keeping a safe distance in public places, experts warn.
