Chu Xuan Dung, deputy director of the municipal Department of Education and Training, said his department is dedicated to working collaboratively between education and industry in STEM disciplines.
Our overriding goal is to connect students with industry partners to ensure job-ready graduates, increasing the visibility of STEM education and career pathways, and inspiring educators to improve teaching quality.
The Wellspring international bilingual school is the first educational institution in Hanoi to introduce STEM education in its curricula for students and is doing so with the invaluable assistance of Victoria University out of Australia.
Dung emphasized the new educational model helps learners apply knowledge taught at school to real-life situations. Through STEM class, learners can find a solution to a real-world problem.
At the forum, Joel Backwell, executive director of the International Education Division of Victoria, underscored the importance of the close relationship between Victoria and Hanoi in recent years.
He emphasized that some schools in Australia have even started a program to teach the Vietnamese language to Australian students.
