Hand-foot-and-mouth disease waning in Ho Chi Minh City
VOV.VN - The hand-foot-and-mouth disease is showing signs of abating in Ho Chi Minh City, with 2,145 cases detected during the past week, according to a report released by the municipal Department of Health.
Districts with a high number of infections per 100,000 residents include Binh Tan, Tan Phu and Binh Chanh, the department said in its report.
Since the beginning of 2023, the city has logged as many as 20,116 hand-foot-and-mouth infections, without any fatality,
Currently, hospitals of Ho Chi Minh City are giving treatment to 330 cases, of whom 329 are children under 6.
According to the local health watchdog, the rate of increase in the number of infections is slowing down if compared to the figure recorded in the previous four weeks on average.
The local health sector is strengthening supervision of hand-foot-and-mouth disease prevention in the community, schools, and preschools, strengthening communication, and giving advice to the community on the prevention of the disease.
