The Ministry of Construction (MoC) has proposed the government to spend VND1,500 billion from the central budget building houses for 180,000 poor households across the country.

The government’s policy to help poor families in the countryside build houses has received much support from organisations and economic sectors.

According to 59 localities across the country, nearly 500,000 families, over 77,000 of which are in poor districts, need the government’s support. The total capital, including the central and local budgets and loans, is over VND7,900 billion.

Many provinces like Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Tien Giang, Lao Cai, Ha Giang and Thanh Hoa have completed this project. However, many other provinces still find it difficult to identify the project beneficiaries.

The MoC has also asked the government to assist the families who live in villages and towns in urban areas who have difficulties in accommodation.
