The German Government on January 7 granted donations worth about US$88,000 to Vietnamese victims of tropical storm Mirinae.

The relief aid included necessities such as blankets, mosquito nets and cooking utensils enough for 3,400 households affected by the storm in the central province of Phu Yen.

Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Red Cross, Doan Van Thai, highly valued the German aid and hoped for the closer cooperation between German and Vietnam Red Cross.

Last year, the German Government donated 440,000 euros to storm victims.
