GEF delegates join hands for Danang beach clean-up

VOV.VN - Around 600 locals and delegates at the 6th Global Environment Facility (GEF) Assembly worked together to clean up rubbish from beaches in the central coastal city of Da Nang on June 26.

Foreign delegates join hands to clean up Nguyen Tat Thanh beach in Da Nang city.
The event also attracts the participation of local officials, young people and students.
They wear gloves to protect their fingers from sharp objects.
Traffic police help out collecting rubbish on the beach.
The activity aims to raise public awareness of ocean-borne plastic waste and the responsibility of the community in the management and protection of the marine environment.
The participants work very hard.
 
 
Local soldiers gather near Phu Loc canal to collect rubbish.
All of the collected waste is carefully categorized and documented for statistical and research purposes.

Representatives from Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) and GEF plant trees on the beach.

The 6th GEF Assembly is taking place in Da Nang from June 23-29.
