The famous French singer-songwriter Francis Cabrel will give two performances on the nights of October 6 and 7 with Vietnamese singer Le Cat Trong Ly to raise money for orphans in Bac Can province.

The French singer wants not only to help the Bac Can orphanage where he adopted a baby girl, but also to deliver a message of international friendship to Vietnam.

“I have been to the orphanage twice and I am really moved by the staff’s love for the children there,” Cabrel told reporters.

He said he is very eager to perform in front of a Hanoi audience for the first time and hopes his performances will help improve the living conditions of orphans in Bac Can.

Asked about Vietnam, the singer said he fell in love with the country when he came to the Hue Festival in 2000 where he discovered the beauty and the heroic tradition of Vietnam. It was one of the reasons he wanted to adopt a Vietnamese child.

During his two-hour performance, Cabrel’s fans will be able to enjoy the famous songs that have made him popular for 30 years.

Cabrel and his adopted child will pay a visit to the orphanage and go on a tour of Ha Long Bay before returning to France.
