French politicians and intellectuals showed their interest in Vietnam at a talk on the country held on February 13 by the Paris-based Institute for European-Asian-American Relations, a non-profitable organisation studying affairs of regional countries.

They raised questions concerning the private economic development in Vietnam to Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Dinh Bin. They also showed their interest in Vietnam's political and economic relations with big countries such as China and the US.

Ambassador Bin introduced Vietnam's strategies and targets of development towards 2010 as well as concrete policies and solutions.

At the talk, President of the Institute for European-Asian-American Relations Francois Porteau de la Monrandiere spoke about his sentiments towards Vietnam, a country, rich in cultural heritages, that is creating changes during its renovation and integration process.

Over 100 officials, diplomats, intellectuals and war veterans from France and other European countries joined representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy and agencies in France at the talk.
