The French Government has decided to provide 40.3 million Euros to the second phase of a project to modernise the traffic signal system of the railway route linking Hanoi with central Vinh city.
The project, with an investment capital of more than VND1.08 trillion (equal to 51.4 million Euros), aims to build optical cable networks, digital switchboards, and electric facilities for 36 stations on the route.
According to the Vietnam Railway Corporation, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has approved the content of an agreement on the loan in accordance with the Vietnam-France Financial Protocol signed on December 16, 2005 for the project.
The project is part of a plan to develop Vietnam's railway system by 2020.
