Four killed and 12 injured in Ninh Binh bus crash

VOV.VN - At least four passengers were killed and 12 others were injured after a sleeper bus hit a motorcycle and overturned in Ninh Binh city on June 13 evening.

The accident happened at 23:50 at section 265Km+700 of National Highway 1A crossing Ninh Binh city, nearly 100km away from Hanoi capital.

Pham Van Hiep, director of Ninh Binh General Hospital, told local media outlets that his hospital has received a total of 16 people suffering injury after the head-on crash.

Besides four fatalities, seven patients with minor injuries have been discharged from hospital, while five other patients are receiving emergency treatment, said Hien, adding none of them are in critical condition.

The motorcycle driver was among the dead, according to local police.

The police said the bus had exceeded the speed limit before the accident happened. In addition, the sleeper bus also entered the No entry lane, because all passenger buses are required to follow the bypass road of Ninh Binh city.

The police immediately launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
