Representatives of 15 NGOs and international organisations operating in the province said they will help the province mitigate the impact of natural calamities, rehabilitate disabled children, control HIV/AIDS, supply safe water and improve the environment and hygiene conditions in rural areas.
The provincial authorities thanked these organisations for their non-refundable aid and official development assistance (ODA) programmes, which, they said, have helped the province reduce poverty, implement education, healthcare, safe water and credit projects, and boost the local socio-economic development.
The province has so far received an average of US$1 million per annum in aid from 30 NGOs, and international organisations including the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the International Organisations for Migration (IOM), the Asian Natural Disaster Prevention Centre, the Social Assistance Programme for Vietnam (SAP-VN), the Oxfam the UK and Save the Children of UK, the Canada Fund, Oxfam the US and Children's Action.
