The Ford Foundation wishes to develop relations with Vietnam, said President of the foundation Susan V. Berresford at the organization’s 10th anniversary.

Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Le Van Bang appreciated the foundation’s sense of responsibility, especially in assisting Vietnam to deal with the aftermath of Agent Orange. This cooperation has helped Vietnam and the US to overcome the consequences of the war to reach complete normalization of bilateral relations.

Over the past 10 years, the Ford Foundation has helped Vietnam’s agencies, organizations and individuals through 549 projects worth US$70 million . The projects included areas in sexual and reproductive health, education and learning, culture and arts, finance, environment and development.

The foundation also sponsored more than 420 Vietnamese studying overseas for master and doctor degrees.
