FM spokesperson underscores favourable conditions for foreign entry

VOV.VN - Vietnam is ready to create the most favourable condition for foreigners to enter the nation, Le Thi Thu Hang, spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, said at the foreign ministry's regular press conference held in Hanoi on April 21.

These comments were made in reply to a reporter's question about the fact that Vietnamese tourists entering Taiwan (China) are required to have more negative rapid test results for SARS-CoV-2 within six hours before boarding flights.

Recent times has seen the country’s COVID-19 prevention and control measures, especially its vaccine coverage rate, achieve positive results. In addition to this, the number of infections and severe cases, along with the mortality rate, have decreased significantly over recent days, Hang said.

This comes following the Vietnamese Government adopting a policy on safe adaptation to COVID-19 as the nation moves into the new normal, as well as opening the door to foreigners entering the country. However, strict measures will still be put in place to control the pandemic situation and to ensure the safety of tourists.

To create favourable conditions for foreigners to enter the country, Vietnamese competent agencies have issued many new regulations and guidelines on anti-pandemic measures for people upon entry, in which there is no mandatory medical isolation for them, including those entering from Taiwan (China).

"We also hope that countries and territories will have similar regulations and guidelines to simplify entry procedures for people coming from Vietnam, thereby promoting economic recovery, and strengthening cultural exchanges after the pandemic," Hang added.
